Universal Music Pays tribute to The Carpenters with this installment of the Coffee & Bossa series This CD is perhaps the first Carpenters tribute album with a twist of Bossa Nova…and it works beautifully. There were two major factors in The Carpenters' success: the songs and Karen's voice. Unfortunately, Karen passed away in 1983, but the music lives on. These versions of their hits are performed with a smooth Bossa rhythm and, although The Carpenters were not involved with this album, they are there in the sweet, beautiful melodies sung by Mitzi Caballero. 16 tracks including 'Superstar', 'Rainy Days And Mondays', 'I Won't Last A Day', 'We've Only Just Begun, 'Close To You' and more.
