She is what we call in Dutch a ééndagsvlieg. translate: (One Day Fly) or a One Hit Wonder. I have this Lp in my own private collection, but no be able to rip my own vinyls. I was suprised to find a rip at the Internet (thanks to mike the original uploader) form this great album. As far as I know it's never brought on cd. This is pure nostalgie from my youth, special the song 100 Years peaked for three weeks at number one in the Dutch charts. Anyway it's good to share some hard to find music classics on AvaxHome.. ;-)

This german rockmusician and songwriter – who died with only 43 years in 1998 - and his band created ambitioned and fantastic songs! Somebody said, that “Gundermann is the Springsteen from East Germany”. I don’t know, if it is the truth, but their musician styles are similar and both are hard workers. Even if you don’t understand the lyrics in german, it is although a very fine arranged music.

I got into trouble the last time I tried to write about Bleu Edmondson. Seems his fans took exception to things I said about him. So I figured I’d go on down the road and forget about it. Then I screwed up and bought his latest CD. And I can’t forget about it. Bleu won’t let me. Damned boy writes too good a song to forget about it.

This debut record from Chris Brecht threads a highway between folk, country, indie, and the 1960s. Influenced by Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan, Brecht takes off from there to create space for his own words and music. He vividly illustrates the promise of a young songwriter. A 5-star debut, 'The Great Ride' is where Sal Paradise and Dean Moriarty slip away to drop bennies and dig poetry. Analog Alternative-Country the way it should be.

La légende raconte que Serge Gainsbourg s'est décidé à écrire après avoir vu Boris Vian sur scène. Tant mieux. La chanson française a rarement connu un auteur/compositeur/interprète aussi atypique et talentueux que l'homme à la tête de chou. Il sera l'artiste de sa génération le plus demandé par ses confrères : Les frères Jacques, Hugues Aufray (qui chantent dès 1960 "Le Poinçonneur des Lilas"), et surtout ses consoeurs : Juliette Gréco (créatrice de "La Javanaise"), Petula Clark, France Gall, Brigitte Bardot, Vanessa Paradis... Que de chemin parcouru entre le titre qui le révéla au grand public en 1959 : "Le Poinçonneur des Lilas" et son dernier album conceptuel You're Under Arrest de 1987 ! Entre Gainsbourg et Gainsbarre ! Ce live, enregistré à l'automne 1985 au Casino de Paris, par Dominique Blanc-Francard (qui réalisera quatre ans plus tard celui de Dutronc dans cette même salle) est d'ailleurs plus Gainsbarre que Gainsbourg, avec 13 titres sur 19 postérieurs à 1970. C'est bien évidemment le dernier album de l'époque qui est à l'honneur avec quatre chansons : "Love on the beat" (titre de ce dernier opus), "Sorry Angel", "Harley Davidson of the Beach" et le sulfureux "Lemon Incest" (dont la version studio a été enregistrée avec sa fille Charlotte) qui s'inspire d'un morceau de Chopin. On découvrira également quelques grands classiques des années 60 revisités comme "La Javanaise" (1962), "L'Eau à la bouche" (1960) ou "Bonnie and Clyde" qu'il enregistra avec Brigitte Bardot en 1968. Côté curiosité, signalons "Dépression au-dessus du jardin" qui figurait sur l'album écrit pour Catherine Deneuve ("Souviens toi de m'oublier" en 1981).

Mulitple IBMA and Grammy Award winning bluegrass musician, singer, songwriter Tim O'Brien is back with a new solo effort titled Chameleon on Proper American due March 25. Chameleon is O'Brien's first effort since winning the 2006 Grammy for Best Traditional Folk Album (for Fiddler's Green, one of two albums he released simultaneously in the fall of 2005)---and the IBMA's Male Vocalist and Song of the Year honors that same year.

Swampdawamp was formed in the Spring of 2006 when singer/songwriter Gig Michaels, guitarist Marty Hill, and drummer David Lee recorded a slate of new songs in their recording studio in Charlotte, North Carolina. After mixing and mastering the demo disc, Michaels sent it to producer Joe Boyland, who immediately agreed to produce the band. While recording songs at Seventeen Grand Studios, The band added B3 and piano player Duke Rivers. A little later, Robbie Hegler became the new bass player and guitarist Michael Hough completed the band.
