This Canadian alternative rock outfit might seem unfamiliar to you as you might never heard of them. Is it a big deal? Well, if you're searching for some new music, something fresh, you should go for it. Can't force anyone, but if you're curious, well, at least go on reading ;-) As I already spilled, this group plays alternative rock, which says much and very little at the same time. There are quite too many alternative rock groups and their music is pretty diverse.

The wickedly original Japanese punk revival band Hi-Standard were formed in 1991 by guitarist/vocalist Ken Yokoyama, bassist/vocalist Akihiro Nanba, and drummer Akira Tsuneoka. The bandmembers made a name for themselves in their native Japan early in 1992 when they released Growing Up on Toy's Factory Records. They were soon brought to the attention of Fat Wreck Chords owner Fat Mike (NOFX), who licensed the album to his own label for sale in America. A mixture of irreverence and impressive talent, Growing Up was highly lauded by many American reviewers...

The Wolfgang Press was an English band active in the the 1980s and 1990s. While many people were involved in most of their recordings (especially in later years), the core band consisted of Michael Allen (vocals, bass), Mark Cox (keyboards), and Andrew Gray (guitar). The band recorded for the 4AD label. Michael Allen is now with the band Geniuser, who released an album Mud Black on the Danish Phisteria label in 2005, Andrew Gray records under the name Limehouse Outlaw and released an album Homegrown on his own label in 2003, and Mark Cox is currently working on music, but as yet, has no name for it.

This half-Swedish, half-Spanish singer/songwriter has become a legend in his homeland of Sweden the old-fashioned way: by writing great, honest songs to purge himself. Daniel’s motivation is neither fame, nor fortune…he’s just looking for some quality catharsis by setting his emotions to music.

Along with the Stooges, the New York Dolls were largely responsible for pioneering the sound and attitude of punk, and this, their self-titled debut, is one of the founding documents of post-'60s rock. Outrageous, shambolic, and bursting with energy, the Dolls borrowed from the amped-up, bluesy swagger of the Rolling Stones, the pop confections of Phil Spector, and the campy theatricality that would flower with the glam movement, yet brought it all together with a visceral impact that recalled the jolt of early rock & roll.

These tracks are culled from two Bob Dylan concerts recorded in New York by CBS in 1963 with a view to a Dylan live-album release at Xmas 1963. The concerts, recorded either side of the release of The Freewheelin Bob Dylan. Most of these tracks were very surprisingly never released. This is a timeless, perfectly recorded snapshot of an emerging genius. The songs are great, well delivered and it's great to see a Dylan who is fresh faced and optimistic - this is obviously before certain crazy people and the crazy music business would soon almost drive him to dementia, even almost death!Even though he's normally the silent type between songs, Dylan is a lot more open and more verbose here. A wonderful CD, a fascinating and fantastic album! One of the best Dylan bootlegs out there for sure.
