Midnight Juggernauts - Dystopia
Genre: Electronic, Rock, Indie | CD | MP3 | VBR ~280 | 97.6Mb
In the Midnight Juggernauts' Dystopia constellation, a line can be traced from the modern symphony of M83 and Air, all the way back to the electronic psychedelia of CAN and the pop smarts of ELO. John Carpenter is in the director's chair, Georgio Moroder's compiling the soundtrack, and Goblin is screaming from the shadows. Throughout its 13 tracks Dystopia lays a common thread of vigilant optimism, although it's a mood often shrouded with a dark and sinister disposition. The relentless stomp of techno-meets-disco singles 'Road To Recovery', 'Shadows' and '45 And Rising' have already scored the band airplay on triple j and independent radio Australia wide, while further into the stratosphere they've found themselves pounced on by BBC1 and MTV2 UKEurope, the latter marking them as "artists we're tipping for the top in 2007". The formula is tweaked with glittering results on album tracks like 'Into The Galaxy', 'Twenty Thousand Leagues' and 'Nine Lives', while introspective departures (such as the title track or album closer 'Aurora') or abrasive moments ('Intro' and 'Scorpius') display a luscious and darker side to Midnight Juggernauts' exterior.
"Armed with his explosive self-titled debut, Bermuda native CollieBuddz is quickly proving himself as reggae's next big thing. With anerupting fan base in both the global reggae market and the U.S.hip-hop community, this fresh new voice is breaking ground by incorporating everything from soca to dancehall styles. Over thehottest club-ready dance beats, Collie Buddz spits some of the mostblazing rhymes and rhythms of the summer. His first hit single, "Come Around," features Buddz's distinctiveBermudian vocal sound over a laid back, Zap Pow-sampled reggae beat.On "Mamacita," Buddz heats things up with a sexy come-on that's sureto get the dance floor rocking fast and dipping slow. Fans should becareful this summer: Collie Buddz's self-titled debut will get the clubs hotter than the Bermudian sun."

Nina Hynes And The Husbands - Really Really Do
Genre: Rock, Indie | CD | MP3 | VBR ~200 | 83.8Mb
Dubliner Nina Hynes, along with her band, makes a bittersweet sort of rock music. She employs a pretty, fragile vocal style, at times sounding remarkably like Bjork. On "William Tell," Creation's opening track, she sounds so much like Bjork that the resemblance is a bit unnerving, or at least distracting. Still, the song presents a brutally sweet overture, mildly frightening in tone, but extremely pleasing and accomplished. Nina Hynes is at her best when she leaves behind the Bjorkish mimicry, and it's hard to fault this fine collection of dreamy, stylish tunes. Unless she wants to be pegged as the front-runner for the lead-singer spot in a Sugarcubes cover band, she will hopefully concentrate more on her own, powerful thematics.

Jeff Lorber - He had a Hat
2007 | Smooth Jazz | EAC-CUE-APE-3.99 | 339 Mb
“
A sophisticated showcase for his varied jazz styles, Jeff Lorber's He Had A Hat finds the pianist moving from softly funky pop jazz numbers to a few straight-ahead swingers. Always an urbane and tasteful musician, Lorber has often found a good balance between contemporary, pop oriented material and more cerebral improvisational cuts and He Had A Hat is a prime example of this duality. To these ends, tracks like the title-cut and the frenetic "Surreptitious" evince a kind of Tower of Power meets Brecker Brothers funk. Fittingly, trumpeter Randy Brecker adds his supple chops to the latter track. Similarly engaging, big band numbers like "All Most Blues" and the afterglow ballad "Orchid" bring to mind both early and late-period Miles Davis respectively. Also joining Lorber here are a bevy of name artists including trumpeter Chris Botti, vocalist Paula Cole, saxophonist Gerald Albright and many others.

Hisham Abbas - Ya Habiby....Ta'ala Gamby (2007)
MP3 | Arabic | 256 kbps CBR | Covers | Size: 89.1 MB
Mohammad Hisham Mahmoud Mohammad Abbas was born on September 13, 1963 in Cairo, Egypt. He is commonly known as just Hisham Abbas. He is an Egyptian pop singer best known for his hit song Nari Narain. He had his primary education in Dar El Tefl school. He was home-schooled for his secondary education & GCE. Later on he enrolled in American University in Cairo as he graduated with a major in Mechanical Engineering. He decided to pursue art as his profession rather than Engineering.
A real shift in style for Amel Larrieux -- but a great one too! As hinted at in the title, the tracks here are all standards from the American songbook of the 20th century -- older tunes made famous many years back, but given new life and a new sense of soul through Amel's wonderful performance! The setting is relatively spare and intimate -- mostly just piano, bass, and drums, plus a bit of acoustic guitar -- and although the sound is somewhat jazzy, there's still enough qualities here that will make the album appealing to fans of Larrieux's older work. Titles include "You're My Thrill", "Shadow Of Your Smile", "Wild Is The Wind", "If I Were A Bell", "Try Your Wings", "I Like The Sunrise", and "If I Loved You".

A true internet phenomenon, Kate Walsh a 23-year-old guitarist recorded this album in a friend's bedroom and named it 'Tim's House' in his honour. In a bid to make sure her gentle folk songs reached the public she formed her own record label called Blueberry Pie and put her work on the internet. The classically trained pianist from Brighton said she built up a fan base by putting her music onto her MySpace page and eventually persuaded iTunes to sell it. Kate said she her songs were inspired by Burnham-on-Crouch in Essex, a seaside town where she grew up and still has family.
