Richard Gotainer began his professional musical career composing jingles for commercials, from that experience (and his natural liking for pop music of the Beatles/Beach Boys kind) he always kept his music as catchy as possible. Add to this his oh so peculiar voice and you have one of the strangest artists from the french 80's. This particular album, released in 1982, is half and half. Side A of the original vinyl contains what you might call radio songs, including two of Gotainer's mega hits : "Le mambo du décalco" & "Trois vieux papis", it's all fun and games and makes it a pleasant listening. Side B is a conceptual pop oeuvre while never losing sight of what makes Gotainer so entertainingly sweet : humour
