This is the audio version of Sarah Brightman's new concert, filmed in January 2008 at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, Austria. It features Sarah's best-loved hits and selections from her new release, "Symphony" and some favorites from her vast catalog including "Pie Jesu", "Phantom of the Opera", "Time To Say Goodbye" and "Ave Maria". Spanish countertenor Fernando Lima joins Sarah in "Pasion", Italian tenor Alessandro Safina in"Sarai Qui" and "Canto Della Terra" (originally recorded with Andrea Bocelli). Chris Thompson joins Sarah in "I Will Be With You (Where The Lost Ones Go)" and in the outstanding rock-version of "Phantom Of The Opera". Monk explores the possibility of voice in ways that no one else has. Her work is so playful when it comes to sound and voice--her pieces insight a little laughter, a little joy, and sometimes just plain awe. I was a little dismayed to hear her voice being synthesized and sampled a little in this recording, for I always thought that her work was strongest for NOT using electronics but allowing voice to have its own natural depth. Pieces like
"Shaking" make it clear that, in Monk's musical world, voice is as much an instrument to be arranged as piano or percussion.

Type O Negative is a band from Brooklyn, New York City. Although commonly viewed as a goth metal band, Type O has also incorporated elements of doom metal, thrash metal, blues, and alternative rock into their work. Their dramatic lyrical emphasis on themes of romance, depression, and death has resulted in the nickname "The Drab Four" (in homage to The Beatles "Fab Four" moniker). The band went Platinum with 1993's Bloody Kisses and have gained an enormous underground following with seven studio albums, two best-of compilations, and concert DVDs. Their most recent album is 2007's Dead Again.

Their true second album, Bloody Kisses, was released in 1993 to critical and listener acclaim, and eventually became the first record for Roadrunner to reach certified Platinum status in the US. The band had made huge strides in the progression of their musical style.
