Charon is Gothic metal / Gothic rock from Finnland. Beware, because in beginnings they were playing death metal! Soon they left this territory and moved into a region of Gothic metal / Gothic rock and I have to admit they managed the shift flawlessly. With this recent album their music is becoming more enjoyable to wider audiences. You can feel their metal roots and harder edge, but melody is getting more and more important. Generally If you like gothic genre, you're going to enjoy this record.

Evridiki is a Cypriot singer, born and raised in Cuprus. She early moved to Greece and started a succesful career since her first solo album, which was released in 1991. She has already released 13 albums till now and many of them hit the first place in Greek charts. Evridiki has already participated many times in Eurovision Song Contest, always reprensenting Cyprus. In 2007 she collaborated with Greek rock composer Dimitris Korgialas and their song called 'Comme Ci Comme Ca' was finally selected to represent Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki. Evridiki presented 'Comme Ci Comme Ca' in the semi-final but didn't finally manage to get into the final contest, as she finished 11th in the semi-final results. Despite this, 'Comme Ci Comme Ca' is already a big hit in Greece and many other European countries, especially given that the lyrics are in French and that the basic rock melody and awesome vocals of Evridiki give it a big chance to become #1 in many European radio charts. This single contains two versions of 'Comme Ci Comme Ca', the one that was already presented in Eurovision semi-final and a brand new dance remix by composer Dimitris Korgialas.

Another gothic group. Sometimes it is difficult to describe and to distinguish exactly the style and separate the bands. It is a keyboard driven gothic rock. If I should cite Wikipedia, then In Strict Confidence plays electro-industrial / electro-gothic rock.

She is the former vocalist for the band Theatre of Tragedy and current vocalist for the band Leaves' Eyes. This music is quite difficult to capture into a genre, but generally it is about gothic, what I stated above.

To my memory this was the first concept album of the underground era and it has always stayed one of my favourites. This Boston based band made a great mix of Moody Blueish or Procol Harum-like rock, added some American folk and classical influences into an amalgam that came as a complete surprise end of the 60's. If the Theme For The Masses gets into your mind, it won't leave it anymore. Though rumours go that the album soon will be re-released on cd, this is a very hard to get album. Fortunately a nephew of band member Harry Palmer got access to the old master tapes and he has copied them to cd, adding 5 bonus tracks.
