An album with live recordings of representatives of rock ('n' roll), blues and country, the three standard ingredients of American roots music. Some of the best known songs of artists like: Fats Domino, Tony Joe White, Willie Nelson., Delbert McClinton, John Hiatt, Kris Kristofferson, Susan Tedeschi, Steve Earle, Dwight Yoakam, Richard Thompson and Doug Sahm with both the Sir Douglas Quintet and Texas Tornados.

Leonard's second album and my personal favorite. It's dark and gloomy, but also of an almost ethereal beauty, with some of his greatest songs ever like Bird On The Wire, Lady Midgnight, or The Butcher and one of the few covers, the bilingual (French and English) The Partisan, a great duel about World War II.

This album has been out of print for more than ten years and was finally rereleased in 2004. TexMex original Doug Sahm (Sir Douglas Quintet, Texas Tornados) stayed in Canada during the end of the 80's and recorded there this album in 1988 together with Amos Garrett and Gene Taylor. All three are in their finest moments playing and singing this great cd. Listen to Doug's version of Bob Dylan's Just Like A Woman or the guest vocals and accordion of zydeco-godess Queen Ida on Big Mamou and Banks Of The Old Ponchartrain.

The Seekers are a group of Australian folk-influenced popular musicians which was formed in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, in 1963. They were the first Australian popular music group to achieve significant chart and sales success in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Their 1960s hits included: "I'll Never Find Another You", "A World of Our Own", "Someday One Day", and "The Carnival is Over" (which The Seekers have sung at various closing ceremonies in Australia, including Expo '88 & the Paralympics), and also "Georgy Girl" (featured in the film of the same name). "I Am Australian" is one of the group's more recent hits.

Almost everybody knows one of Chip Taylor's songs, but most of them don't have a clue who he is, or how and what he sings. 'Wild Thing' for instance was a giant hit for The Troggs and was even played by Jimi Hendrix. 'Angel of the morning', 'Try (just little bit harder)', 'Anyway that you want me' and 'I can't let go' were also written by him. His own records are just wonderful. His warm voice is great in ballads, but he can also be hilariously funny and humoristic in his laid-back rockers and folky country songs. Here are three of his albums from the early 70's including his masterpiece Chip Taylor's Last Chance and the album Hit Man from 1996 on which he sings all his well known songs and hits scored by others in beautiful stripped down versions.
