Mari Boine Persen is a Norwegian Sami musician known for having added jazz and rock to the yoiks of her native people. Boine (born 8 November 1956 in Finnmark, Norway) grew up amid the Laestadian Christian movement as well as amidst discrimination against her people. She was asked to perform at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, but refused because she perceived the invitation as an attempt to bring a token minority to the ceremonies. Gula Gula (1989, Real World) was her breakthrough release, and she continued to record popular albums throughout the 1990s.

Mike Oldfield - Music of the Spheres (2008)
Ape + Cue ~ 221 Mb | MP3 - 320 Kbps | 107 Mb | Artwork included
New Age / Neoclassical
| “ | A completely orchestral album, with Mike appearing on acoustic guitar, it does return to some of the themes of Tubular Bells, but then heads off in a different direction. The music swoops and soars, climaxes and wanes, and takes the listener on an incredible journey. The work consists of two lengthy pieces of music, and contains tinkling pianos, haunting vocals by a choir and Hayley Westenra, and moments of sublime beauty that make this album essential listening.. "Musica Universalis is the ancient theory that every celestial body, the sun, the moon and the stars has an inner music. This is a harmonic and mathematical concept derived from the movements of the planets in the solar system. The music created is inaudible to the human ear. Music of the Spheres is my interpretation of this theory. Every planet and every star: even the whole universe has music within it that no-one can hear, this is what it would sound like if it was set free. This is Music of the Spheres..." Dave Messner; Mike Oldfield | ” |
