OFF KILTER - the Celtic Rock Alternative, a unique mix of cultural and musical backgrounds merge to create the unforgettable sounds of this Celtic rock band. Jamie Holton on bag pipes, guitarist Randy Holbrook, bassist Mark Weldon, keyboards by Tony Escapa III and Scott Zymowski on drums, they lead you through their inventive rock versions of many of the traditional Celtic songs you know and recognize. Off Kilter is showcased regularly at the Canadian pavilion at Disney's Epcot Center.

As you can read about in our Society of Sound pages, Real World Records was founded by Peter Gabriel with the aim to bring less obviously commercial music from around the world to new audiences.

Andrea Jane Corr MBE (born May 17, 1974) is the lead singer of Irish pop-rock band The Corrs and an actress. Although her voice is her greatest instrument, she also plays the tin whistle for the band. The Corr siblings were awarded honorary MBEs in 2005 by Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of their musical talents and their charitable work which raised money for Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, victims of the Omagh Bombing, and other charities.The Corrs are taking a sabbatical from music. All except Andrea have families of their own and need the respite to spend more time with them. Ten Feet High is Andrea Corr's debut solo album. This album has been produced by Nellee Hooper whose credits include U2, Gwen Stefani, Madonna & Björk and is executive produced by U2's Bono. All the songs on the album have been composed by Andrea herself, save for one: a cover of the first Squeeze hit "Take Me I'm Yours". According to unnamed sources in an article from Hot Press Magazine in January 2007, the album will be different from The Corrs' sound.

This band presents a fine selection of Celtic Folk-Metal Songs that are upbeat and catchy as hell. With flutes, bagpipes, organ/piano/keys and male/female vocals Cruachan's tantalizing/mezmerizing music summons visions of celtic knots and druid cerimonys... The guitarwork is similar to the style of Bifrost (from the Mythistory album). The songs are relatively varied with some being absolutely beautiful and others being a bit heavier. Female vocals are dominant on this recording with gruff male vocals making an entrance here and there for added texture.

Lisa Lynne is one of the world's leading practitioners of ethnic tribal ambience. That is a different way of describing her music, but it fits. She is internationally famous for her virtuosity on the Celtic harp, on which she has performed original compositions and traditional Irish music from the ancient tribes of Eire. Using Brian Eno's definition, Lynne's music is interesting enough to be the focus of deep listening and innocuous enough to be part of the environment. Lynne upped the ante with the release of Maiden's Prayer. This beautiful cross-cultural hybrid blends the musical styles of Middle Eastern, Far Eastern, Celtic, Western European, and Appalachian cultures.. Jim Brenholts
