Frank Zappa - The Dub Room Special! (1982)
DVD9 - 5.49 GB | AVI (XviD, 720x544, 29.970FPS, 48Khz, 320kbps) - 2 GB | Covers (600 dpi) - 81 MB Genre: Avantgarde Jazz Fusion/Progressive Rock
Previously released on VHS and Beta and only available through mail order, Frank Zappa's Dub Room Special is an extremely rare TV special comprising two live performances from one of Rock's great individuals. Zappa's unparalleled abilities as a composer, guitarist, and absurdist/social commentator run rampant on The Dub Room Special -- and it is a unique window on his willingness to push the envelope of what is possible no matter how improbable. Selections from two separate concerts, one, called A Token of His Extreme, shot in 1974 at Los Angeles public television station KCET and one in 1981 filmed at his annual New York Halloween show, are interspersed with then-cutting edge claymation/stop motion animation from Bruce Bickford and assorted comedy bits.

Trey Gunn - Untune The Sky (2003)
Flac (separate files+cue+log) - 378 MB | Full Range DVD5 - 4.14 GB | Covers (600 dpi) - 92.7 MB Genre: Progressive Rock, Instrumental Virtuoso
Untune the Sky is a well-put-together compilation from the now former King Crimson member Trey Gunn (As of November 21st 2003, Trey has announced his departure from the band after 10 years). Gunn is a pioneer of the Touch (Warr) Guitar and Chapman Stick. Both instruments utilize a playing technique of two-handed tapping as opposed to plucking or strumming the strings. During the past decade, Gunn has brought out the full potential of what these unique instruments are capable of. This is a great CD/DVD set. The CD provides an excellent sampling of Trey Gunn's solo material while the DVD shows some flawless playing from Trey and his band. With Gunn now departed from King Crimson, I can only hope that this will be the beginning of an even more prolific and fruitful solo career for him.
