The Rights of Women in Islam

Haifaa A. Jawad, "The Rights of Women in Islam: An Authentic Approach"
Palgrave Macmillan (1998) | English | ISBN: 0333734580 | 165 pages | PDF | 3.71 MB

It has long been argued that Islam liberated Muslim women by granting them full rights as citizens. Yet in reality we see that in much of the Muslim world women have been subjected to both cultural and political oppression. Instances such as forced marriages, arbitrary divorces, female mutilations and other abuses are common in the Muslim world, as are restrictions on women's education and on their role in the labour force. This book explores these problems and highlights the contrast with what Islam - through the Quran and the Sunnah - in fact prescribes. The cause of such contradictions are shown to lie in other socio-cultural and political dynamics, quite outside the realm of the revealed religion.

Well , I see sometimes you post anti-islam books , well Islam liberated , liberates and will liberate women either from known restrictions or so called rights , We Muslims see in women , mothers , sisters , wives , and not prostitutes , and bitches , we have our principals and we do not need Western debauchery to teach us about real rights , I don't try to make it sound like this but , the so called liberties spoiled women's chastity and feminity under the pretence of false rights
