Awareness comes from understanding and that requires an accurate perception of Reality. If the Mind is clouded, perception is distorted and informed, intelligent decisions cannot be arrived at, regardless of how logical the thought processes may be. Spontaneity is the ability to "think outside the box," and use creativity and imagination to cope with the "slings and arrows of outrageous" Reality and to be able to enjoy the beauty and wonder of the Universe.

Latin Epics of the New Testament is about the growth of Christianity, and in particular the challenge of engaging with the Roman intellectual elite and its highly sophisticated Graeco-Roman tradition. In this culture epics like those of Vergil and Lucan were highly valued for their language, their 'heroic' themes, and their Rome-centred ideologies.

Scholars once predicted a bleak existence for religion in the modern world. Social progress, they argued, meant doing away with religion and its antiquated control over our lives. Religion, however, is actually thriving in pluralistic and complex societies, and its continued vibrancy-even resurgence--demands a reevaluation of ideas about secularization.
