The articles included in this Proceedings were presented at the conference “Migration, Trade, and Development,” held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas on October 6, 2006. The conference was hosted by the Dallas Fed and Southern Methodist University’s Tower Center for Political Studies and Department of Economics and sponsored in part by the Jno E. Owens Foundation.

The foundation was established in 1953 by Jewell Montague Owens in memory of her husband, a prominent Texas banker.
